ZP Image Control

Do you have clients or colleagues who upload images into your site straight from their camera? Is your site loading slowly as a result? Is it overflowing its hosting space?

Free ClassicPress & WordPress plugin ZP Image Control allows you to set restrictions on image upload dimensions and JPEG quality to reduce the space taken by the media library and improve site performance.

It also allows you to retroactively process all existing images in the media library using the same limits. This does not affect thumbnails, only the originally-uploaded images.

ZP Image Control is a dual-platform plugin and works with ClassicPress (1.1 onwards), and WordPress (4.9 onwards). It started as a fork of the plugin “Imsanity” under the terms of the GPL, to preserve compatibility with the WordPress 4.9 branch, i.e. ClassicPress. However it has been completely rebuilt using our own plugin coding standards and the admin UI has been greatly improved.

The download link on the right is a direct link to the zip of the current release. To install the plugin, download this zip then go to the admin plugins page, click the ‘Add New’ button, then click the ‘Upload Plugin’ button and upload the zip file.

Though this plugin is not in the WordPress plugin repository, future updates will be shown on the admin plugins page when available. The plugin must be active in order to check for updates.
